Sealink, A Company Signed a Contract with SK Hynix
The supply chaos of semiconductors has been prolonged. Experts predict that the semiconductor market will continue to grow until 2030. In line with these expectations, major advanced countries such as the U.S., China, and the European Union are pushing for self-reliance on semiconductors. The U.S. and Europe announced that the countries are going to establish semiconductor production facilities in their own countries to become independent in the semiconductor field. The Chinese government also announced plans to focus on investment in key technologies such as semiconductors and batteries.
Along with the global interest, companies that are contracted with major semiconductor companies such as SAMSUNG and SK Hynix are also drawing attention. Sealink is SK Hynix’s primary partner and specialized in manufacturing sealing devices that are essential for the front-end process of semiconductors. Started from 2018, Sealink has collaborated with SK Hynix, and in 2021, it is supplying sealing devices to the mass production lines.
To successfully deposit the wafers during the semiconductor process, it is necessary to seal inside of the chamber, so that foreign substances do not flow in. The technology that is needed for this process is called “Sealing,” and it is one of the most significant parts of the deposition process.
Sealink invented S-SEAL which improved the temperature problem of conventional magnetic fluid seal, and it can perform stably in high temperatures.
S-SEAL is more competitive with improved performance and longer duration which leads to higher productivity. The conventional seal, magnetic seal, needs coolants when the temperature is over 80℃; however, S-SEAL can be operable up to 150℃ without a cooling system and can be operated up to 800℃ with supplying coolants, so it can perform stably at high temperatures. Sealink has acquired around twenty domestic and global patents and ten certificates based on its high technology.
CEO Rhee has been continuing studied material and parts fields for twenty-seven years, and providing sealing devices that can be operable at both vacuum and pressure circumstances with improved weakness of magnetic fluid seal. Following the increasing interest in semiconductor equipment, it seems the demand for Sealink’s technology is also going to increase.
